My life with Facial Blushing

Like so many others I first started noticing I had a problem with facial blushing when I went to high school. My parents kept reassuring me that the blushing was a result of hormones and that as I got older it would all go away. Unfortunately, it did not go away and I have struggeled with my condition ever since.

I am now 27 years old and I am enjoying life, but at times I do experience facial blushing. However, I have made the decision to accept my condtion, accept that facial blushing is something that will probably be with me all my life and because of this outlook I find it easier to deal with situation. This does not mean that I will not try to cure my facial blushing and I am currently on a drug in the SSRI group. I have heard stories of people feeling strange on these types of drugs, but I have not experienced this sort of feeling.

The most important lesson I have learnt about the use of drugs to cure facial blushing is that you need to find a drug that works for you. There are many different drugs in the SSRI category and I tried three different ones before ending up with the one I am using now. However, this drug will not necessarily work for everyone. If you are interested it is important to talk to a doctor and work out which one will be best for you.

The biggest problem I have had with the SSRI drugs is a lowered metabolism, which in turn has led to weight gain. I am now aware of this side effect and try to counter it by exercising more and eating healthier.

That is my story, hopefully it does not discourage anyone. Facial blushing can be depressing, but hopefully my positive outlook on life is contagious and can help you learn more about the condition.

I wish everyone the best of luck
